Cannon Mountain, New England’s Diamond-In-The-Rough

New England’s Diamond-In-The-Rough Skiing Mountain If you’ve ever been to one of New England’s premier ski mountains then you probably spent extensive time waiting in line. These lines are usually the biggest obstacle to overcome. Cannon Mountain is New England’s diamond-in-the-rough with hardly any lines. After a fun weekend skiing at Cannon I soon realized that this was the perfect mountain for challenging slopes with hassle-free access. After questioning a long-time resident and frequent Cannon visitor I learned that the lines, which were short, were actually as long as he had ever remembered. “Usually you ski right onto the lift, no line whatsoever”. For me a five-minute wait was not bad at all and the two-hour-and-change drive from Boston was well worth the hassle-free environment and powdery slopes. Another great benefit of this untapped resource are the ski packages offered by local hotels. Inexpensive package deals offer discounted lift tickets and lodging making a weekend trip affordable. When you plan your trip to Cannon Mountain make sure you come prepared with extra layers because the mountains in Northern New Hampshire are wonderful and can be frigid! Enjoy the snow!
